Watershed Coordinator Hired

Greg KutskoWest Creek Preservation Committee has just hired its first employee, a watershed coordinator. The position was filled by Greg Kutsko, a Cleveland native who has recent experience in Idaho as a watershed coordinator. In addition to his capacity as our watershed coordinator, Kutsko will assist in the administration of the West Creek Preservation Committee organization.

The decision to hire a watershed coordinator and administrator was made due to the number of projects that West Creek has taken on. We have been successful in receiving grant money for a variety of worthwhile projects. With these projects comes much responsibility to the grantors, the public and other agencies holding a part in the projects. It was felt that the most responsible and cohesive way to handle these obligations was through the use of a dedicated full time employee.

This is a major step that took a long time to accomplish. Grants from the Cleveland Foundation and from the Gund Foundation made this groundbreaking step a reality. These two organizations have been incredible supporters of WCPC and we are enormously appreciative their decision to help us so generously. Other funding came from a six-year pro-rated grant from the State of Ohio.

We look forward to working with Greg and are sure that his experience will be a huge asset to the West Creek organization.
