Welcome! NEW WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE BARE WITH US AS WE UPDATE THE WEST CREEK CONSERVANCY WEBSITE FOR THE NEWEST PROJECTS, PROGRAMS AND UPDATES - PLEASE SEE HOT TOPICS TO THE RIGHT OR FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK @ facebook.com/west-creek WCPC was founded in 1997 by a group of local citizens concerned about the mounting loss of greenspace in one of Cleveland's most populous neighborhoods - the City of Parma. Though the City is bisected by multiple watersheds, the West Creek watershed was the original impetus for the formation of WCPC. West Creek is a nine-mile long tributary to the Cuyahoga River full natural, cultural, and recreational amenities; though the problem was access, use, and sustainability of them. With dedication, community buy-in, and progressive foresight, the organization set in motion a series of planning initiatives and implementation objectives, all of which aimed to create a natural park and trail system that would ensure the perpetual protection of the watershed's natural, recreational and historical resources. With continued and replicable success in the West Creek watershed, the WCPC Board of Trustees and Staff, decided to expand the organization's mission and services into all of Greater Cleveland. In that transition, urban land conservation and stewardship took on a much greater role. In addition to providing land acquisition and management services for a number of non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and other partners, WCPC also coordinates efforts on land and water resource restoration, trail development, stormwater abatement, historical rehabilitation, policy implementation, urban agriculture and an array of other sustainable and best management practices. WCPC has deep roots in the community and our successes have only come at the heels of your support. Thank you for your interest and support in the organization. Please join us in our efforts for a Greener Greater Cleveland. We invite you to learn more about our watersheds, our organization and our projects, and we hope you will share our vision. We’d love to have you join us for a hike, or a meeting, or one of our many special projects (such as wetland plantings, creek clean-ups, and trail building). We welcome your comments, questions and suggestions. If you would like more information or to get involved, please contact us. Sincerely,
